I am reminded of my one-time favorite, https://script.aculo.us/ . > current version: script.aculo.us 1.9.0 as of December 23, 2010.

There is plenty of research to suggest that people go into cognitive decline after entering retirement. Whether that translated to a change in "happiness" is perhaps a different metric, but it certainly is suggestive. https:/

What os does it run? And the more important follow up: what games can it therefore run? I _assume_ it's linux, but that must limit the games to protondb and linux compatible games which, speaking from a lot of experience, misses quite

Lots of government websites will tell you who owns a property. Meanwhile, there's no open address book associating ssids to names or ssids to addresses either.

This is probably a bad security practice. When you click mybank.com, you don't want it silently redirecting to mybank.phishing.com. Links are explicit. You could always right up a trivial browser extension to do this on a case by case

Coming from the opposite direction, there is a theory of humor that basically says that what humans find funny are things that are not usually ok made ok. This is also known and the "benign-violation theory"[1]. Things are funny w

I'd be curious about the source. Is that one He in the actual vacuum, or is that one He by dividing known matter by known space. If its the latter, that's very different.

If that's the case, they wouldn't need to report the location back to themselves, would they? The phone would simply check its coordinates, and turn it on or off.

Presumably it could wait until someone actually asks for the phone's location in that case. No need to report the location if no one's asked for it.

Not mentioned in the headline: When the user is _not_ logged in, iOS collects "location" whereas Android does not. I am actually a little surprised that iOS would gather this information. What use would it serve?

a) The number of customers who are interested in actively "bleeding money from" their hosting provider is probably zero. b) The number of customers who actively want "a little hate speech" on their site is probably zero.

I am not suggesting that online, self-serve shouldn't exist. I am not even suggesting that we shouldn't encourage them. I am merely pointing out that we can't implement those _first_ at what will inevitably be the expense of

Except that, though I can afford a bigger tv than 55" tv, I still am not going to buy one. And buying the 85" they recommend is _enormous_. It might make for a cinematic experience, but it poses additional problems beyond price: 1

What is the point then? I feel as though lots of people will read this and say "My couch is 10+ feet from my tv. This states that I _need_ to get a giant tv".

Recently upgraded from a 1080p 40" TV to a 4k 55". According to this, at ~12ft away, we should have bought an 85" TV?! That's crazy and dumb. Or rather, a misrepesentation. This article states that we _could_ get away wi

I remember back around 2003 when a friend told me that the gamecube would/should be Nintendo's last piece of hardware, (I had recently purchased a used one). They do seem to follow something of an every-other generation in terms o

I am more curious about context here. Nintendo was (and is) a public company. Presumably Microsoft new what a reasonable bid would look like. This sounds like they weren't just laughing at the offer itself.

While I don't disagree, I will note that most people don't think twice about giving up control to bus and taxi drivers.* I think we trust humans to make a reasonable decision in a trolley-problem scenario (rightly or wrongly). Or
