I've had this happen to me with a parker fountain pen. It never ever leaks under any circumstance other than air travel.

But why release a version that has performance issues even on two year old hardware without optimizing it first. The new google maps is slow to the point of unusability on my two year old hardware. I can live with the rest of the UX changes

Lost two nights to this one. It is definitely the best fan fiction I have read and more so. IMO JK Rowling's version pales in comparision to this, but without the inconsistencies of the original book, this HPMOR wouldn't have been

This doesnt sound right to me. I know senior dev's in London getting paid at least double of that (and in some cases even more). It is not in the NY or Bay area range, but it's not £35k either.

Not adding anything useful to this, but the questions you've raised make me want to get into this - I've been playing around with this idea of capturing the oral histories that abound in the smaller towns in India and putting them up online

Off topic, but that was a nicely written bio. Vonnegut's life was a lot more complicated than I had imagined from reading his books.

C++ experts actually have it good (in London at least). Almost without exception, low latency trading systems are built in C++ and being an expert will get you an exciting and lucrative job pretty easily.

5-0 in favour of google. I was quite surprised too since I used fairly generic queries that I thought Bing would do as well as google. - whats on in london - ready player one - bash history across sessions

That is true, but what appfog (and the other PaaS providers) do not give is the ability to tweak service[1] configs even to a limited degree. Not needing to worry about Mongo or MySql setup is great, but for all of my non trivial use cases,
