With the rapidly increasing problem of resistance to known antibiotics the idea of voluntarily implanting a foreign body in yourself seems crazy to me. WHO says "Antibiotic resistance is one of the biggest threats to global health, foo

Quite a lot of testing in Final Cut and Logic etc showing very good performance and efficient swap. So for most consumer apps it works well. No magic if you need a big block of memory for ML or analytics.

The point is that they don’t need to. They are not selling advertising, they are selling privacy as a service. E.g. Apple maps breaks apart your journey on their side so they can’t reconstruct your journey from a to b.

The comments mainly relate to the Mac OS implementation, which is clearly very early and not fit for production. As he points out the iOS version is more stable. The company I work for are already shipping a SwiftUI iOS app, and plan anothe

This approach seems to be simply implementing short-circuit boolean operators e.g. as soon as any AND condition is false, then false; as soon as any OR condition is true return true. The first example of evaluates every condition in a botto

Good article. I’ve been fortunate to try them all, even SmallTalk when it was released for the Mac in the 80’s. Lots of code in Lisp and C. Not as much in Haskell. My favourite so far are the ML family and F# in particular. The only languag

I agree. I found Jonathan Frankle’s interview on the NLP highlights podcast to be a great explanation of the findings, and provided some really good intuitions for how deep learning behaves. https://podcasts.apple.com/us

It is a disease and survival has dramatically increased because of amazing progress in treatments. Just look at the recent drop in cancer mortality in the US. It is incorrect and irresponsible to blame people who get cancer for eating badly
