Or have checked exceptions (Java). Granted this comes with big downer... If you need to extend functionality and new (updated) code has to throw new exception, your method signature changes :( But the best so far method I know.

In Bulgaria, our longest running comic magazine (Дъга ("Duga") e.g. Rainbow) had version of the Hobbit - https://www.endorion.org/books/comics/ - This was in fact the first version of the "books&quo

I was not able to use (recent) dotnet-format as standalone .exe tool, also it only worked if inside an actual project with .sln/.slnx file and all that. I could not instruct it to work on single file.

This brings back good memories, My first computer was Apple ][/e or /c clone (bulgarian Правец 8Ц), and then had a 286, later 386 PC with Hercules (monographics) monitor! So I appreciate when things look really cool, reminds of me

Autoconf is the prime example of easy vs simple. It looks easy on the surface to roll down support for any kind of operating system there is, based on auto-detection and then #if HAVE_THIS or #if HAVE_THAT, but it breaks in ways that maybe

Okay, so while https://github.com/jemalloc/jemalloc has been archived recently, there is this fork from Facebook: https://github.com/facebook/jemalloc (7 commits ahead of the archived one so far)

While I love mimalloc, I'm surprised to see jemalloc/tcmalloc not scaling up, and slower than glibc... something is off here!

There is an effort to use arrow format for metrics too - https://github.com/open-telemetry/otel-arrow - but no client that exports directly to it yet.

What I'm saying is that if you have relatively lots of small allocations, with the 4Kb page, they also have to be aligned by 4kb, and with the new android changes - it'll be 16kb (e.g. 4x more).

They do... each allocation that is protecting must be aligned by 4kb, and now by 16kb (ideally padded at end) On top of that, adding 4kb (or 16kb) pages sprinkled across adds more to the TLB cache.
