Nushell is interesting. I tried using it as a scripting language (fish is better for interactive usage[1]), but I didn't get very far because it's constantly evolving and scripts that work today might not work next week. I can

If all you're doing is text processing that Perl can do out of the box, you probably only need the Python stdlib.

Except that we've seen plenty of times that "non-physical" evidence doesn't exist and has never been relevant, and usually there's a better physical explanation. So by default, it's fair to assume that non-phys

I don't get it. This is an extremely basic fact that most people can figure out after thinking about primes for a minute. Maybe if you ask for "what's an easy optimisation here?" This would make the candidate think more

I assume you meant that you should add 2? If yes, that's such a mind boggling basic thing to do that I agree with you, and it makes no sense that you're being crucified.

How is asking for evidence close-minded? Having 3000+ years of personal accounts is meaningless when compared to hard, physical evidence. Again, personal anecdotes is not evidence. I know there are studies about the efficacy of meditation i

If you're a materialist, which sounds likely to be true given the available evidence, any claims to the supernatural are disqualified by, for example, the Sagan standard.

You're not wrong. Although we can agree that this _sounds true_ because of who Bolsonaro has demonstrated he is, it doesn't mean that it's true until we see some evidence.

As macOS user, I'd rather they use XDG than the "standard" macOS directories. Maybe there's a point to be made to use the standard if the XDG variables aren't set, but I'd generally avoid that for CLI apps. Hav

There are mental illnesses that don't go away. You can manage them with medication and therapy, so why would you expect such patients to stop going to therapy.

This is such a bad faith comment. The sun isn't causing climate change; we are. Do you disagree that humans need to minimise waste in order to fight climate change?

Americans tend to drive larger cars than other nationalities. These cars use more fuel. Most of these people do not need large cars and would be fine with smaller ones that use less fuel. Therefore, by choosing larger cars, they're usi

Are you in London? My 1Gbps link gives 800-900Mbps in these speed tests, and I'm fine with that. It's a pitty that some of that is unused because I need to use a VPN. When I lived in a small town, my 500Mbps would give me >400M

nushell[0] has this built-in. It's one of my favourite things about it. Python has typer[1] to do this with type hints. It's limited and gets ugly quickly, but I love it for simple scripts. [0] nushell.sh [1] typer.tiangolo.com

That might depend on how many raw Python loops and functions you use. Even if most of your code uses pandas and numpy, things like string processing could still benefit from a compiled language.

Thanks for pointing that out, but this doesn't answer the spirit of my question: do men that do not have sex with men need to be monogamous to donate blood, or is that a requirement specific to MSM?
