One day I could not compile something. After fighting it several hours I decided to go sleep. A few minutes before waking up I dreamed that the solution was to set an environment variable. I even saw the specific variable and which value I

I love python and it is my main language for almost everything. However, yesterday I was playing with python’s async/await and I came to the conclusion that it is a bit... useless. Not a big deal, because i can use other stuff to accom

When I did dating I hated it. It was painful and stressful. It took me like three years of active going through it to find my wife, who by the way is wonderful. I hope I will never have to do it again. Looking at it in retrospective, I thin

    by makz 7y ago

I agree with you. There's a popular book they recommend around here for learning linear algebra, which they say its very related to coding. I found it to be not the case. Upon reading the first chapters I started wondering how could th

I have several things to say here. I see we are still debating the same points as many years ago (GIMP vs Photoshop, Visual Studio, paid vs unpaid labor, chicken and egg, convenience...). It’s like we haven’t learned anything. About the end

As far as I have seen, every time a project uses C, they end up transforming it in some subset and if you want to contribute, you must learn that C subset. It’s almost like DSLs. I think that’s expected, and cool, given that C is a general
