I think some of the questions you're asking have well known answers within the Eth community, but OP should have provided a FAQ or links. To register a button click with the smart contract, you must send a transaction over the Eth netw

As a computer scientist I think we benefit as a group from having NLP fit under computer science, so yes I think we should call it computer science. The overarching question is: why does it matter what we classify NLP as?

This comment is funny, and also unfortunate. Overall, the article gives a broad overview of a typical NLP pipeline, and demonstrates the concepts with a neat example. Sure it could be improved, but it seems that you interpreted the fact tha

Is it really fair to compare Somerville to NYC? For example since you post on Ynews and live in Somerville, there's a high chance you work at MIT or one of the offices at Kendall. It's almost like someone who lives on 70th street

$23k tax collected / job created with a 7.65% state tax rate, roughly means a $300k salary per job for 15 years. Sure sales tax and real estate taxes will help some, so let's be generous and say you only need $200k in average sala

I don't know if you've heard of the d2jsp forum. But the site's owner (he's essentially a 1-man operation) made a probably $10M+ by doing just that. Not sure whether this is possible (or optimal in terms of growth rate)

Then it seems like the data being hashed would be serializations of databases rather than sets of transactions. I.e. you would be publishing snapshots of the world rather than agreed-upon changes starting from a pre-agreed on state.

I think I've run into the first issue you describe, and I'm having a hell of a time trying to understand it. Would you mind taking a look at my example and helping me out? Consider the following: cd /tmp/ echo -e &

A short guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/6i9jbg/guide_used... . TLDR: buy a used desktop business-class with a decent PSU for $300-$400, and stick in a GPU in the 1060 class.

One benefit to owning the hardware is that you can use it mine cryptocurrencies when you're not using it. I bought my GTX 1060 for $200 used in March 2017, and it's generated around $1300 worth of Ethereum...

I'm not an insider, but it seems like Apple's motto is "long-term profit above almost anything else." As a result they certainly are considering designing their own x86-64 or ARM CPUs in hopes of reduced costs down the l

I think one thing to consider is that there is economic disincentive against acquiring >50% of the network, and even more disincentive against attacking it once you have 51%+. You have to pay full value to get >50%, but Ethereum could

This solves the problem by reducing it to a trusted random number generator (the hat). At that point you may as well skip a step and draw individual outcomes from the hat.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect it. E.g. clang -O1 ( https://godbolt.org/g/7qzSF9 ) is able to use the closed form for a sum on a simple C++ loop. It's not unreasonable that a language with deep

I'm not an expert, but I believe the difficulty in this problem is purely from the integers. The objective is linear, and the constraints are also linear. Most solutions to IPs rely on solutions to LPs (and hence the simplex algorithm)
