IMO this is going to create a wave of product offerings from security startups that "monitor for corporate espionage" similar to what Meta was doing tracking copy/paste into whats app, but do it across all apps. Like detect f

Ken Griffin had an interview where he said something along the lines of the technologies dot com bubble pretty much turned out to be what everyone thought they would become at the time. The issue was valuations grew way too fast and it took

What do the 5xxx series cards have that this doesn't which makes them use way more power and need massive coolers? I have a feeling the software workflows will not run as well as the marketing claims, but the idea is really interesting

Yeah there needs to be a common format for all of the headsets to adopt or at least apple needs to provide an easy way to convert into their format (maybe they already do in final cut pro). IMO vision pro is like the first iPhone/iPad

Yeah Big tech is running out of ways to grow profits YoY. So the next solution is the consulting approach of just laying people off. Eventually it will catch up to them and they will become the next IBM/Boeing/etc. where people as

Dealerships also make most of their profit from the service departments which is why they don’t really like EVs. No longer do you need to go in every 3-6 months to get an oil change, belt replacement, spark plugs, etc.

Super cruise started out as high definition maps of US highways that GM made themselves. At the time (around 2018/19) they were using mobile eye’s technology/SOCs and integrating it into their vehicles. Cruise was operating as a c

I don't even know if this will be possible, or how it would work, but it seems like the next iteration of social media will be based on some verification that the user is not using AI or is a bot. Currently they are all incentivized to

Tons of marketing/advertising. The free GrubHub+ subscription through prime probably burned through a lot of cash. I doubt Amazon was paying them very much (if anything) to Grubhub. Then you have all of the corporate staff (around 3k b

I have around 7 YOE, and I have found LLMs useful for very specific questions about syntax whenever I am working in a new language. For example, I needed to write some typescript recently and asked it how can I make a type that does X. It i

I don't use LLMs that often, but I recently used Claude Sonnet and was more impressed than I was with Chat GPT for similar AWS CDK questions. In your opinion is Claude in the lead now? Or is it still really just dependent on what use c

It is insane to see this and conceptualize that you can send data across the world and back in under 500ms. Imagine telling someone that 100 years ago.

IMO the downside of being that spread out is the infrastructure. Cities subsidize the suburban infrastructure because of the population density benefits. If everyone spreads out then infrastructure will suffer.

I think the cloud is great; however, most people go way overboard for what they need. You don't need 15 lambdas, 4 micro-services, dynamoDB, API Gateway, etc. to build your internal app that gets 10 TPS. Most engineers over build thing
