Exactly. You shouldn't slap a ton of these buttons on your site and assume your maximizing your sharing potential. The 3 share links I have on imgfave.com drive 10x the traffic of the addthis widget that I used previously. I tried using the

Awesome idea! http://imgfave.com could use a redesign. I've got a redesigned mockup I'm pretty happy with, but I'd love to see what better designers could come up with.

Transloadit.com does that. It can create multiple resized versions of an image, add watermarks, as well as upload to amazon s3. I use it for imgfave.com which gets around 5,000 uploads a day and it works great.

On my image sharing site I have a prominent facebook login option and only about 1/10 users use it to login, the rest create an account normally. I'd recommend having both options. Of course, users may be less inclined to login with faceboo

I just added page prefetching to my site and I'm very impressed with how well it works. Now it will be interesting to see if the # of pageviews / per visitor increases over the next few weeks. http://imgfave.com (scroll down to the bottom

If I were you I'd add a facebook like button to each thing and allow people to create lists of things they love just by clicking the facebook like button (no registration required, just save their list to a cookie). Then if they signup they

Looks like a very cool service, but I wouldn't spend too much time trying to make the video go viral.. it's not going to happen. Maybe try using http://launchrock.com for beta signups.. that in conjunction with the video may boost signups

What are the browser requirements for this? I'm interested in building something like this, but just want to make sure most browsers out there would be able to run it.

I think your traffic is too low to bother working on a paid plan. Unless those 100 daily users are extremely devoted, I can't image you'd convert more than one a day. Seems like your time would be better spent lowering your costs. You shoul

I think the concept is pretty good, and I could see something like this going viral, but before marketing it I would work on the user flow a bit more.. 1. Engage people right away. I think those login / signup forms are going to scare peopl

The current design is going to turn people away. The kind of people who would use a startup, seedcamp, etc questions site are the kind of people that expect good design and UI. It needs a lot of work. What about turning it into a boating qu

I know of two active stackexchange sites for startups: http://startups.com and http://answers.onstartups.com To compete I think you'll need a better design and really good content. Just seeing one "test questions" is not a good first im

I don't even roll out changes really, I edit the live production code, one small change at a time. I always felt this was kind of dumb, and I know it brings my site down for a few seconds to a minute here and there (about 1k visitors are on

Yeah noticed that.. it was exactly the same as Hey I Like. My only thought as to why facebook is allowing Hey I Like to stay up is that they're getting a portion of the ad revenue (since it's a canvas app).

Hey, I appreciate the offer to help. I ended up getting everything running on rackspace cloud, which was surprisingly easy considering I knew nothing about setting up a server.. so we'll see how this goes.

Yeah I do need to execute some PHP. I'm giving rackspace cloud a try and then may move it to ec2 or a dedicated server if traffic slows down.

My dedicated server is overloaded because I'm running a number of medium/high traffic sites on it, not really much optimization I can do there. I definitely need to move the app to the cloud or its own server. In a few days the app could ea
