Was just planning an achievements system for my website and was thinking that there really should be a service that makes this easy. Looks like that's exactly what you're working on.

It's simpler and hopefully easier to use. Dailybooth is certainly doing well, and part of what inspired me to start this project, but I don't think it's at the size where I have to compete with it (many people haven't heard of it). I'm defi

Tagging friends in a photo is a meaningful social action, just like commenting or liking a status update. Automating this would give users one less way to interact with their friends on the site.

Sorry, I don't believe anyone would intentionally buy this game for $299. Sure, a high price can cause a perception of value, but that is ridiculous. I think it's more likely that these people thought it was $2.99.

I'd take down the ads. Not much point without the traffic.

It does connect with their core product. When you attach media it creates a posterous blog for you which hosts the content.

What are you copying from builditwithme? I don't see much of a similarity. Anyway, I think your original site is much better than the new one.

Just posted it: http://www.facebook.com/typography By the way, if you've got any other projects in the works, definitely think about setting up some related (non-branded, such as typography, music, etc) fan pages now. Great way to drive t

Nice, did you make this? I could post it to a typography Facebook fan page I run (12,000 fans).. if it's ready for wider exposure / lots of traffic.

Yeah, I'm getting 600k monthly uniques and 3m page views and not even coming close to covering the cost of my dedicated server. I think big brand advertising is where it's at, but it's not easy to get.

A $2 CPM would be great. These days I'm lucky if I can get a CPM of 12c. Although that's still much better then what I've been able to get with CPA ads.

There's nothing all that special about it. If all your friends/acquaintances are on it then it's great, otherwise it's not that useful. If all my friends were on twitter then I'd probably be using that instead.

They seem to be doing well, but just having good popularity data doesn't make you a strong digg competitor. People don't think of bit.ly as a destination site and that's not going to be easy to change.

Why not use bbauth? I know Yahoo and Google support it. That way you can grab their email contacts without requiring them to give you their email/password. It just sends them to the email provider to login, then back to your site with the a

Testing this now. One issue for me is that I get a lot of traffic from reddit, stumbleupon, etc.. these users don't stick around for more than 5 secs and they are going to use up my captures quickly. I would suggest only counting captures t

Looks cool, but of course you would need to get potential users of your addon to install jetpack first. Will be great when/if this becomes a core part of the browser.

One problem could be that in any city where you'd need this, the parking spots are probably snapped up so quick that knowing there's an empty spot 4 blocks away isn't going to help you.

I meant out-door shopping markets, and the customers would most likely be people in wealthier nations purchasing the goods online.

Hire a bunch of people to walk around large markets in other countries, such as India, with wireless webcams attached to their heads. Shoppers can then direct these people to various stands, barter, and purchase stuff through a web interfac

But why did they need to cache data to provide this service? The script that generates the RSS feed could have just queried the FB API and generated a feed on every load.

It seems like this idea depends on whether it can provide sufficient exposure/traffic for the sponsors, which could be hard. In the end, isn't the value of a twollar just how much traffic that tweet will bring back to twollars.com to the sp

Yes, and I think the similarity to ffffound really helped in the beginning, as many hailed it as a great ffffound alternative for those that couldn't get an invite. Now I'd like to work on making it a much more unique service. I have so man

I don't use a captcha on my site and I've never had an issue. I wouldn't worry about it until the problem arises. If your site is just starting out you want to keep that barrier to participation as low as possible.
