One of the great tools to use here is `functools.partial` After that, it's a question of taste. Agreed, callable objects can be useful but if you don't modify your "self" during function calls, partial funciton aplicatio

It seems a competitor like Dailymotion was able to survive on its own, bar YouTube competition. I m not sure its viable with it, but without google it seemed profitable.

Just continuing the discussion, I fully agree with you on principle. I stand by the fact that FIVE is not really a good constant. You will not change five unless you also change the code to handle it, so it just adds another part to modify.

A question: is really fifth the best ? Seeing FIVE=5 always irks me, as it's an extra indirection for nothing. What do I gain with it ? The ability to change it to FIVE=6 ? OUTPUT=5 maybe but then console.log(OUTPUT) gains you nothing.

Yes, the main issue is not the language its the Revel at which it operates (text vs tokens or ast) What I wouldn't mind is more widespread adoption of other preprocessing steps, in whatever language, be it scheme or python.

Yeah but when you need a desktop you're back to using a big desktop or use a coherent set of smaller apps, hence lubuntu.
