The point you are responding to is not about using th stdlib, but implementing it. If you look at the stdlib itself, it adds lots of functionality without too much code, from scratch.

Python used to be simple. V3 cleaned it even more (adding incompatibilities and the whole drama). The recent additions are not much but there are many that you need to know to be able to understand code using it: walrus operator, type ann

Many missing chips for automotive or devices are not gpu or top of the line level but simple microcontrollers. Those can be done with 130nm to 40nm process for the most modern. 130 nm has been used for pIII or amd athlon64 and dates from 20

I kind of agree, it's better to have generics from the start (we'll see if there are difficulties added), and the error handling was rejected. But the fact that those proposals have been proposed, discussed, studied and for one of

There has been a go2 proposal for better error handling, so there is no issue trying to improve things or adding needed features. But things go slowly and must be discussed and vetted before being accepted because the language has few featu

From my point of view, the correlation is definitely not 1, but while competitive code is not good code, and therefore the skills and discipline differ, there is a strong correlation between good competitive programmer and good programmers.

Sometimes I wonder if I could be interesting to have a 1bit desktop. Not necessarily lowres, but 1bit. (Or maybe 4grays). That kind of light, simple desktop (maybe resembling next step maybe more modern) could be pleasing in a way.

Index minimum wages on inflation? The minimum wage in France by example is indexed on inflation (in fact half the increase of an average worker increase) https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salaire_minimum_interprofess...

I long for the times where there were less package managers, not more. Maybe two at most (one for distros and one for developers maybe) but isn't it time for some kind of standardisation? One per language is not justified.

I'd agree with your definition of novel except for the addition "in a minimal timeframe or effort" because else of course you can replicate the same outcomes with about the same effort.

I quite like C syntax, and I sometimes long for a language that would change a few elements (default to const and static, different/safer standard api for strings). Some might call it Go but a simple slightly updated C would be nice.
