Sibling comment looks interesting, but two other options I've used are A) https://testmy.net/auto which lets you set up scheduled speed tests, and B) some manual hacky scripts running via cron on a Raspberry Pi. The la

I consider the reminder friendly, but definitely not what it implies... Any source on this? By guest services, you mean the additional "click this to install some custom stuff in the running VM so it works better" step? And if

Yeah, my Grandma (chemo-brain-fog-addled at the time, now just terminal-cancer-brain-fog-addled...) accidentally signed up for Prime while buying a Secret Santa gift, had to help fix that (she didn't even know that she had an Amazon ac

Pretty much mentioning it in passing - it's hard to tell the experience level of random commenters online, so thought I might pass that along in case you were unfamiliar; I've done _some_ technical writing for work, but not enough

https://pikvm.org might be relevant; the BBB and Pi are pretty comparable for most purposes, so wouldn't be surprised if that code/configured would work with only minimal tweaks on your BBB.

https://diataxis.fr (or the original of that page) was posted on HN recently, and I thought it was fairly interesting; I haven't had an opportunity to apply it to my own technical writing yet (I wear many hats, and "do

Thanks. I guess the docs are correct about "end" defaulting to infinity, as "(range)" by itself in the REPL just locked everything up (for about 2 minutes, then resulted in an error of "Invalid string length")

Not sure I "get" Clojure yet, but I appreciate the effort and will poke at it further. One piece of feedback - "Range of N" should clarify that "range" is generating N numbers starting at 0, so N won't act

Thanks - I've been keeping track of Pishop and Micro Center (always forget the space...), forgot about PiHut as I usually don't need to check stores for other countries (though they've got Pi Zero 2 boards in stock, so may be

Do you have any specific links of suppliers you recommend checking? All of my common ones, including my local MicroCenter, are almost perpetually out...

Setting aside anything else going on, thank you for bringing up and clarifying the 2010 flash crash - I had only ever heard the high-frequency trading theory (with a side order of "nobody actually understands what the bots were thinkin

Kinda feels like Parsec ( https://parsec.app ), but honestly there are so many websites in that format these days...And yeah, this one even has a free tier and a paid tier, and a nice convenient "Pricing" link up top...

That's odd - I tried the same page, and felt it was very responsive, up until I did 7+ square root operations. This is in Vivaldi, on a Windows 10 (2.5 year old fairly beefy "gaming") laptop, with a bunch of tabs and Spotify

One thing I've heard recommended, and enjoyed a bit myself, is to listen to music with lyrics in a language that you don't speak (at all, I'd say) - the (heavy conjecture) theory being that the foreign language isn't rec
