The family was a wealthy merchant family in Iran before the revolution. They brought money and knowledge of how to become wealthy when they left. Look at other wealthy persians in LA and you see similar patterns.

I would think twice about it although. GW501516 for example: 'was abandoned in 2007 because animal testing showed that the drug caused cancer to develop rapidly in several organs'

America does not spend it's taxes wisely. You can live in Canada for a similar tax load as a lot of people in California, yet not have universal healthcare, drive on roads that are in horrible conditions, deal with a horrible DMV, see

For me cruise control is just giving my gas pedal foot a break on long drives. I still have to constantly adjust the speed with my hands and the brake itself. I'm also steering and watching what I'm doing.

The actual payment networks like visa and mastercard charge very small amounts in most cases, something around %0.15 + $0.02. Most of the credit card fee is going to the issuing banks.

It can actually be harder to hire people to work in the east bay at union city or fremont than palo alto sometimes. Tesla recently had a problem with it when they were trying to transfer eng offices from PA to fremont for example.

I would prefer mandatory typing with a dev mode that makes it optional for speed. With optional typing, you end up with the third party ecosystem not having typing, which makes it hard to enforce type safety with a codebase that is fully t

For CA, those housing units are negatives on the budget because of prop 13. It doesn't really matter where they are built.

Prop 13 makes houses a net negative on city budgets, so there is a financial incentive for cities to reject new housing units, while encouraging development of hotels and commercial properties which are net positives. Prop 13 also induces p
