It's general chatroom infrastructure where you don't have to be invited to join a chat room. @heres , good mobile clients and so on are part of the package.

What I think happens: 1. You submit a salary info struct, which includes time of submission. The struct does not contain a userId. 2. Your account's lastUpdatedSalaryDate gets updated, with only day/week/month level precisio

It's a $150 device, not $200 base price, and that argument applies to almost anything apple. The phones, laptops, even the airplay wifi spots are more expensive than an equivalent. They also retain their resale value, so selling the

It took a while for $2 lightning cables that worked well to show up in dollar stores. In the first year or two, they weren't around.

I don't think it will take long for apple to create a new apple TV with 4k output if the market goes that way quickly.

A few years after a new cable format although, you can get fairly affordable 3rd party cables although. And now they are moving to USB-C, which doesn't have any thing apple specific other than the lightning connector.

Programming language features have their own costs too. Ease of shooting yourself in the foot, how much compile time it take when it scales up to a big project, ease of making tooling, likelihood of making programming mistakes and so on.

For iOS devs, you don't need that much RAM fortunately, since xcode takes about ~2-4GB ram itself for large projects. But the tooling is not great and it's annoying to run CI systems with them. iOS dev is definitely geared toward

Hasn't it been getting really bad now? Canadian incomes did not go up by %25 when the currency went down by %25, but rent has risen a lot recently in the past year. I moved away years ago, but that is what I've heard. That char

Unaffordable housing markets are created by 3 things usually: 1. Strong NIMBY anti-development policies. 2. Low property taxes. 3. Foreign money using housing as a bank account. You see it in vancouver, london, SF, NYC and you'll proba

Most of the compile time issues comes from type inference (exponential algo!), a really simple file based incremental compilation logic system and generic / struct specialization. If you could make a version of swift that turns off th

Swift lines of code take about 10x more time to compile compared to obj-c too. I wished for obj-c when our project started passing the ~70 kloc mark.

Does kotlin have the same compile time, binary size and IDE indexer choking issues as Swift? I've heard that it has similar problems. I would not use Kotlin for a large project if that is the case.
