I don't think the map sources it uses have been updated in a long time. We've had a tree removed from the front of our house 2 years ago that clearly shows up in the map.

While I have Rogue stuff, I think the REP Fitness racks and benches end up being a better deal for what you get quality wise.

It's sad that people assume density must mean mega cities instead of gentle density like Paris suburbs. You could double the Bay Area's density by approving duplexes, fourplexes, and sixplexes + a few more more apartment buildings

The only way to make this actually work is to also impose a minimum time off for everyone. So everyone has to take at least 2-3 weeks off per year in total.

This is an org structure problem not a headcount problem. No team is empowered to make changes without 5 other teams' approval.

I've been using the PARA system from Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte for all of my new notes and interest hoarding. After I've read a link, I'll quickly file it away into an inbox with some useful snippets on the page.

Tailscale uses wireguard underneath to create the connections. You are directly connecting to your desktop rather than sending your data through them to you. They manage the authentication, secret sharing, NAT traversal etc. for you automat

I think there's the additional question of "how often should we just replace a building"? I've unfortunately made the realization after remodeling our 60 year old house that we should have just torn the house down.

8k will be helpful primarily for significantly larger TVs (77"+) depending on the view distance. These higher resolutions will be really valuable for computer monitors so we can have high DPI screens available across all sizes. I'

I would love for this. Low voltage DC has fewer, simpler requirements for building code and can be easily run through walls. Additionally, it would help a lot of the heat dissipation issues with LED fixtures. The only problem is the eventua

Oh boy we’re affected by this too. This is infinitely more frustrating with a toddler. Luckily we found a flight out at an airport 2.5hrs away and have a friend who can drive us. Every rental car in Nebraska is unavailable for the next few

I'm generally an Apple hardware guy + console gamer so I don't have to have linux evenings like this. I used to enjoy the tinkering, but now I have Linux days in the Cloud and don't feel the need to be a computer therapist at

A straight forward fix would be a gradual repeal. Start with foreign territories and Hawaii allowing for non-US vessels. Then in the US allow for 10% of all traffic to be serviced by an international company, and keep increasing that until

One significant improvement in energy expenditure would be to continually increase the standards for insulation and air sealing. Many folks could cut their bills for heating and cooling in half by making substantial upgrades here.

While this is interesting, I think IVF still has a long way to go for ensuring solid patient outcomes in reasonable amounts of time. There's still a lot of voodoo around getting good embryo's from retrievals and implanting them.

A lot of k8s is just not optimized for beyond a relatively small scale (10k services etc.). In particular many of the components rely on a primary node to handle all the traffic rather than sharding work across a group of nodes.
