I'm wondering if you could fine tune the model on an aggregate of a temporal slice of revalued weights? Something analogous to REM sleep's involvement in embedding the days events into long term memory.

Why not just not use JSON for config? In a sane world YAML wouldn't even exist and everyone would use something like TOML.

This is the smartest intentioned educational device I've found. https://microbit.org/ It's rough around the edges, but what it does well is offer a wide array of sensor inputs, and very simple text output. And wra

Unfortunately women's successes are a side issue here. Disenfranchised men are in a chaotic state right now, but it's only going to take one decently charismatic leader to coerce them into a globally connected league of brownshirt

If you've ever attempted to extract a meaningful few-shot response to a non-trivial coding question from an LLM, this shouldn't be a surprise. That said, I have worked with actual humans in the industry who perform this badly, and

I got some interesting results by feeding Claude 3 a very sparse primer for a conlang I wrote when I was 18. There is zero chance this is anywhere in the models dataset, and we were able to perform basic translation to and from English.

I get where you're coming from in a way. But speaking personally, the idea of people peeking at my creations before I'm ready for them to is anathema. Like, some fundamental violation of the self.

I wouldn't worry about the truth of the matter; there's a US-centric cultural axe to grind here.

Pragmatic reality vs ideological reality in action. In a world where Steam revokes my licence to a game I have absolutely no ethical concerns about using piracy to retrieve a backup.

As an aside its absolutely mad that the sole NYT takeaway from the whole debacle is putting people of color in Nazi uniforms.

Really impressed with the self-host setup. I've found these are usually a bit of an afterthought, involving a bunch of service dependencies and an arcane config process. Postgres 14 and a few tweaks to a TOML file and you're runni

You are misunderstanding how much of a travesty this is. No government organisation (typically the Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales) was involved in bringing these prosecutions. The Post Office itself was legislatively empower

Amusing anecdote - I used to eat octopus whenever I could get my hands on it, but always as an ingredient in a larger dish - e.g. chunks of octopus in a stew or sauce. One day I ordered octopus tentacle from a tapas bar, and it arrived whol

A point I didn't notice in the comments is that Nestlé have replaced the previous biodegradable cellophane and foil wrappers with biodegradable paper, so this hack is no longer valid.
