So all that matters to you is investor value? Maybe some things matter more, like, not fostering an environment where sexual harassment is tolerated.

This isn't an assessment of content quality, it's of a user's experience. All Google needs to do is optimize for things like time on page, CTRs, etc to see users abandoning those with paywalls and not those without to decide

As it should. Paywalls present a worse user experience than say Bloomberg.com which shows its content for free.

Unlike potato chips? What product is not designed to be as addictive as possible? One could argue they are being more manipulative but this is not unique or special to social media. Anyone remember subliminal messages in advertising? I don&

That's interesting considering so many professionals use the Mark III. I recall seeing an article that the NYTimes staff all used Mark II's at one point.

Where does the A7r II / A7S fit in with this? Are they considered a prosumer version of this camera? And if so, what makes this more professional, the FPS?

5% retail price? That seems quite steep. I've personally shipped 1,000+ gifts for Kickstarter backers, I'd suggest using Easypost.com unless you really need a warehouse. It's super cheap.

Yes. I think maybe in 1-2 cities in limited areas I will be able to use an app on my phone to order a Google car from point A to B. I think it will have lots of limits, perhaps limited to certain areas within a city, perhaps limited by spee

Yes I also keep my own backups. I use Crashplan for the iphoto library, as well as a local SSD backup. Fortunately iPhoto libraries are just folders so by backing it up you can always take out the folder of originals and put them in Google

For those who don't need quite as much storage (12tb!) I recommend trying Apple's new iPhoto library. It has been pretty close to a dream solution for me. Now I can take photos on a trip, upload them via my iPad. Make edits to RAW

Does anyone know why bandwidth costs for both AWS and Google have remained flat while storage has rapidly approached .01 cents a gb? Do they have fixed costs or is this one of the last ways they have to to make money on their platforms?
