As a lot of the comments suggest you can either be stoic about your job or stoic about your own aspirations. Choose wisely as the wrong choice can bring miserable: Being stoic about ones job never caring about aspirations might lead to cyni

It seems like we are seeing the limit of "infinitely scaling business models". It is definitely going to be interesting to see what the future of content distribution / monetization brings!

I am sure this is also possible to do in Switzerland. At least in Denmark it is. However, a tax refund it less than a reimbursement.

You got me on an imprecision. UK is definitely also an Anglo cultural country in this regard. I reckon they also pay most of their own tuition?

I am not pointing out a flaw, merely a perceived difference. Personally I don't really buy into the monetization-of-every-aspect-of-life. I did not take my education for its monetary value and I am more than happy to have been removed

I guess this is a consequence of building an educational system that is for profit and where student pay a (substantiel) part of their tuition. European universities have also closed, yet I still have to hear about any complaints. In fact,

Vercel has a 16000 files limit (That we hit). How do you handle big sites? Edit: This is not a problem for a lot of pages. But to me that is a deal breaker to use Vercel for any medium or large sized projects.

A recommendation going forward: make sure to host emails on a domain you control yourself. This will allow to change service provider for mail hosting when they act like this.

I wrote my entire thesis using markdown as a super set of latex. I agree with the sentiment of the article, that for efficient documentation you need for building blocks. But I am still very happy about using markdown as a super set of oth

Grapping the tarbell from where? To my best knowledge, tarbell export is not a part of git, but something git hosts provide. Git is a distributed VCS, and we should support keeping it that way.

My impression is that it will use the normal git experience managing design assets. Ie. with this there should be no need for additional tooling. If it works, that would be so great!

Court doesn't outlaw anything. They interpret laws. Lawmakers should change these laws.

There's something about granularity this blog does not touch. For an outsider it is extremely specialist to know design, marketing, developing and a bit of server admin. I'd say generalists split their time across software develop

Regulations are needed to lead lives with dignity. That was basically what the whole discussion was about.

Whether people work at McDonald's or Uber, or are homeless, everybody should be able to lead lives with dignity.

This was about regulations. I never commented on the uber drivers. Tbh, I have not enough insight to know if they should be protected. I am merely pointing out, that is is easy to forget what regulations do for you. And yes, 9 year old have

I reckon you are happy that you didn't work in the mines when you were 9 years of age? Or am I completely wrong? Oh wait, naturally you would have been able to decide for your own best.

That people are able to do what's best for them is a faulty assumption and the key argument for regulation.

My comment was not limited to the realm of hardware, ISAs and microcode. It was much more general. If you never treat data as code, you can only do uninteresting things. My example was the email address. The instance you look into the "

What is the exact (philosophical?) distinction between data and code? When you extract the host name from email to be able to send a email, you are interpreting a string. We could call this process executing a program that outputs the host
