This. On the Mermaid Chart site they say: "By the creators of Mermaid JS" I don't know the details but assuming they're being truthful, there definitely appears to be a tight relationship.

I really like Mermaid, but I'm not seeing the value in this as is. - Mermaid within .md is widely supported. The file format of .mmd, while supported in most integrations, is a standalone file rather than living within my documentation

But if OpenAI was Open , they'd open-source those old obsolete models. You're right that no one really wants it, and it has little to no commercial value at this point, but that's all the more reason they should just put it

The goal isn't to capture all of the randomness of the water but instead to capture enough noise to produce a seed. All of the changes in the room get averaged into a pixel. The water just makes the room change more.
