Forget the protein. It's ok, but you don't need. I included the veggies, because the don't have much calories and they are fighting your hunger. At the end they are healthy too, but that is not the point here.

This Diet is way to complicated. A better way is simply: * Don't drink alcohol. Alcohol has calories like fat. * Don't drink stuff with calories. The best is plain water * Cut back on carbs. Don't eat outside. Most food you buy is not suite

If outside the US would be an option, Berlin (Germany) Public transportation is great (24/7), a lot of cultural activities, quite a view of web startups there and in contrast to other big cities in Europe and the US, it very cheap.

Maybe you just think Detroit. But I think with Microsoft it is a special case, because they are "evil". In my oppinion Google has similar problem, but the are not evil. So nobody wishes them away.

In Germany blogs aren't that popular like in the US. It is not a main source of news. It is more opinion publishing. There are only a few who can live from blogging.

He invested in a free newspaper, not a traditional one. In a speech in Berlin he said that he is always trying to change the rules of the game. By the way newspapers aren't dead, they are just evolving.

I used a different layout based on dvorak optimized for the german language. You get very, but it sucks if you have to use a different computer, then you hack with two fingers. I switched back. If you only use your own computer go for it. O
