I wonder: Why should we care about what Musk and Hawking mean about AI? This article doesn't mention too much bad stuff, but earlier they have said that we should be afraid of AI/singularity. With my thesis now in AI, I probably k

This reminds me of a talk by two of the Nobel price winners in medicine this year (Moser couple). They, together with O'Keefe, measured brain activity in various parts of the brain. Before computer loggers and visualization was very vi

Yeah. And in my case, an rDNS lookup will even resolve to a domain name owned by me, as I run some other utilities on that box. Not stopping me, though. I use the VPN when using public WiFis, knowing that my data is protected but that I

"Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" by Russel&Norvig is one of the most used course books in AI. It covers basics of formal logic, search, making decisions, handling uncertainty etc. All at an introduction level, thou

Huh, didn't know Scribd had changed focus to become an E-book service. My impression of Scribd has long been that it's a piracy-pdf site.

My favorite is spaghetti sort. Make one spaghetti straw per item that is as long as the value of the item. Then take all spaghettis in your hand and put them against a flat surface. Remove the longest one and keep doing that. :)

Most servers I've used don't even have a GPU. It will be interesting to see how this and other GPGPU applications for server software will shape the server parks in the future.

Did this happen because of GSM? In that case it's a bit ironic, as big parts of GSM is invented by Norway.
