This is very true. I grew up at a "mountain-pass", e.g. the last civilization before 100km of mountains. Even if the sun shines and the forecasts say the weather will stay nice, one should bring blankets, hot drinks etc., as the weather can change in a couple of minutes and then you're stuck on the mountain.
