Slightly OT, but I'd like to express my astonishment about a positive article about a new tool making it to the front page. Somehow these days it's always rants about new stuff. Nice and short read.

Did you try setting the device up with the MDM app from a Mac? It's called Apple Configurator or so, can't remember now. But as far as I remember it came with many options.

I was struck by that too. Don't know why or how or with which action, but lost all my opened tabs on my iPhone a few weeks ago. Luckily it was really just work "in progress", but never the less I've lost information. Whi

You can also remember him for his work on Markdown, which he developed together with John Gruber (Daring Fireball): http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/001189 https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown

That's their marketing and the fact that it is a rather expensive investment decision that you want to make sure to be right. Same when you buy a Tesla: You get a mail welcoming you to the 'Tesla family'. And given the cost

Reminds me of the Boss Screen in the famous German PC game 'Moorhuhnjagd' where pressing [B] would pause the game and show a fake Word document.

Same here. Remember Connectix (later Microsoft) Virtual PC? To run x86 Windows on your PPC Macintosh? That's the sort of gap I thought VMware was waiting to fill before releasing the new VMware Fusion. What a let down.

I also had some issues with SVG exports from Inkscape not being drawn correctly when used as toolbar icons for Windows apps. The solution was Affinity Designer. Too bad, but at least it's an easy purchase rather than a subscription.

I mostly agree, though for me it's 'winget install inkscape' right now :-)

Using SOAP APIs daily since over 15 years with .NET Framework development. Simple and easy to write and then easy to consume through Visual Studio generated code. Tried some ObjC development early on the iPhone. Gave up quickly. I agree tha

I agree, same with my MBP at home. And I have the same issue with my 2015 XPS 15 at work which first was really fast, especially with Windows 10 and now feels slow for everything. Even though it is still running "Windows 10" (with

The real reason for Windows 11 is that they could finally drop the Internet Explorer 11 GUI.

While I'm a great fan of ubiquitous tech/computing in general, I must also say that it feels weird applying firmware updates to light bulbs. However, you want to stay safe these days, so it's better to keep up to date, right

This is a picture of art. Not a nude web site. If I would be considered "a creep" for reading this, then I would consider changing employer. Or not be reading articles on the internet while working.

So we're lucky it's not a picture of David by Michelangelo? Would this also be NSFW? I get your point. But this is yesteryear thinking, no? And what is the risk of someone opening an article "The Theft of a Magritte" d

The changes you mention like llvm, CTE de-mat and such: Were these for "free" or did you have to adapt your code? And if you didn't adapt: Would your code still running after upgrading (backwards compatible)? I'm asking

I remember Joel too. Especially also the forums where you could get in contact with (among others) industry leaders. One of today's (tech) luminaries? For me it's Scott Hanselman. Always worth reading, even if you're not part

Good luck when this service goes down. But otherwise: Sounds great! Questions: 1. Is this new? 2. Why just 5 relays? How can I get more? 3. Is something like that available from 1Password? Would be a great addition.
