Why is it too much to ask for doctors to take sufficient interest in their patients to clock just how sophisticated they are, and react accordingly.

I think the instant pot is too imprecise a tool for cooking by recipe, it’s for speed and convenience. I’ll improvise a curry with what’s on hand, sometimes the result is fine and sometimes it’s great :)

I really wish we would retire this chestnut already. As if there’s a reasonable grownup option here and everything else is playing with matches. No it’s not the best thing to do to brave huge waiting lists, call a hundred providers none of

I’ve done plenty of grinding it out in my life with no energy or time to spare. Even in that place you can do better than ground beef. Get an instant pot and invest in some rudimentary cooking skills. I’ve spent a whole year making variatio

Similarly, ambitious and difficult experiments that don’t pan out should also be richly rewarded. You just did all of science the service of clearly marking that tempting path with a big “don’t bother” sign, thus saving resources and pointi

Berlin here, I’m both in medtech and the occasional consumer of medicine. It’s been a nosedive since covid. No availability, no time, providers rushing you through the playbook. I will rely on my 600/mo insurance for minor injuries and

I waited for the buzz with excitement. Then it came out and the details, and price were... an insult. Do they really want to restrict their consumer buyers to (questionably) fashion-forward rich hipsters? How far from their roots they'

Go one step further. The programming model behind Blazor server is criminally under appreciated. Spa-style interactivity without a need for an API is great. Optional shared state between clients and effortless push-to-client is… basically m

I rely on LLMs extensively for my work, but only a part of that is with copilots. I have copilot suggestions bound to an easy hotkey to turn them on or off. If I’m writing code that’s entirely new to the code base, I toggle the suggestions

Agreed, I don’t know why people are so down on ai as a coding assistant here. I concur with everything you said, and will add that now I also have a service that will produce, on-demand, the exact documentation that I need at the exact leve

Asking people to sacrifice for the greater good requires that they trust their leaders and systems to do everything possible to maximize the benefits and ameliorate the harms. Absent that, it’s every man for themselves.

Has anyone tried this out on mobile? I have a list of app ideas that all center around shipping a big database to a device and allowing complex querying while offline.

I have those relatives too and I know others in their 60s and 70s who are very much living in this moment. The difference is curiosity and motivation and the humility to recognize that what’s new and alien might just have something to offer

Some of those things are terrible and dangerous to others. But parents need to be so much more measured in their responses. Yes, you find out your kid was throwing stuff off bridges or being a vile bully, you come down like a pile of bricks
