Perhaps, but this once feels a lot more OSX native than ST2.

Well, you should have it under warranty in which case it's not your problem. And if it's not under warranty - it's time to buy a new one anyway! ;)

The kernel is just a small part of the software on a phone, of corse, and likely not the crucial differentiator either. Don't forget that Samsung probably uses Linux in a lot of other products too, e.g. TVs.

In the Flash case there's a big physical difference between MLC and SLC. You're probably about as likely to get struck down by firmware failure in both cases, though.

You could also get an "industrial grade" SD card; they claim a lifetime of years instead of months. They're usually using SLC Flash and (possibly) more advanced wear leveling compared to consumer cards.

They support VISA in Sweden, so I guess they just lack an agreement with suitable banks and payment processors in the UK.

Doesn't Windows have something like OSX's Folder Actions that could do this? e.g. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2350034,00.asp

How is Apple a threat to the open web? They don't even DO web... At worst they make it possible to write (walled in) native clients that perform better than a browser for specific tasks.

There are different trade offs for each technique. Aside from ensure that native code functions properly (e.g. Android NDK) How about running dalvik in x86 and just emulating NDK calls? Should give a nice speed boost while still supportin

We should always deliver a physical copy, on paper, of everything written during a project together with the invoice. Every whiteboard brainstorm, every source code diff and every email sent and received. Should make a decent stack of paper

How does dual licensing work when other people contribute code to the GPL codebase? Either they should still own their contributions and you won't be able to sell them as non-GPL, or you need to make them sign some extra contract to assign

There's no tax on gifts in Sweden, and the dividend tax is 30%, compared to 50% or so on salaries. So if the IRS doesn't consider it a compensation for work (which they will, of course) gifting the dividends would mean less tax.

It was also the less stable. I discovered more than once the machine was completely frozen (blank screen, no keyboard or network response). Even a NMI couldn't change anything. Sounds like a rather hard crash to me.

Here's another minimalist alternative: https://bitbucket.org/zserge/jsmn/wiki/Home I've used it and think it's pretty neat. One of these days I'll get around to releasing the helper functions we've written to make it easier to use too.

"If you charge a fee for any book or other work you generate using this software (a “Work”)" Second paragraph of the EULA. Unless my English is bad, that defines a "Work", capital W, to be the generated output of the software.
