Except iOS has tethering, it's just disabled on AT&T. Says more about the US mobile market than it does about iOS.

I'm still hoping that something like Flattr can work. It should be possible to have a middle ground between "everything is ad supported" and "everything requires subscriptions or credit cards", especially for niche "small" content (that don

It's relevant since with both radio and streamed services the artist (or mostly the artist's label...) gets paid every time the song is listened to. With an MP3 you only count the number of downloads, not the number of times it's played. Th

Sorry about that, Expressen is one of Sweden's two main tabloids. Here's a rough translation: Lady Gaga had the most popular song on Spotify, with one million listens. Now she gets her money from STIM [Sweden's collecting agency for artists

Spotify pays more per listen than radio does. Exactly. According to this article[1] (in Swedish) about Lady Gaga making $340 from a million Spotify listens to a single song, the same number of listeners on the radio would have made her $1

Is [Windows|OSX|web|...] development still profitable, this late? In other words, it depends on if you're developing something people want or not. But I'd guess that the fart app market is saturated by now...

That's the reason I've switched to Fusion - too many of those random freezes was too much for my virtual Windows to handle, and it just plain stopped working. File system or disk image corruption, most likely.

Even if our entire country voted for it, we could not save the Chinese from their own policies. Vote with your wallet. If nobody will buy products produced using awful methods, they will no longer be produced that way. It's quite simple.
