Fall of the Roman Empire took hundreds of years and long tomes have been written about it. In this case it looks like there would not be enough material even for a thin paperback.

Wasn't copyright law supposed to support creation and propagation of works of art ? Instead, apparently it is A-OK or even encouraged by the same law to destroy books . That does not make any sense! Really might be high time to scrap

Arguably, any such clauses - similar to attempt for "non commercial" licenses would do more harm than good. If you actually wanted to respect such a license, you would have to endlessly argue what is dual use technology for example

I've just compared prices for an SSD and a rotary disk drive I bought both about 2 years ago. The same SSD is now 3x as expensive and the rotary drive is twice as expensive. This is insane & needs to stop. Also those responsible sh

More likely AI companies go bankrupt and market is flooded by repurposed hardware sold for pennies by creditors AND Chinese memory from their new fabs, hopefully also killing the existing memory manufacturing cartel. So basically utopia. ;-

I'm still not sure how shorting is even legal or what useful purpose it serves in the stock market. Wasn't the whole idea that people can invest arbitrary amounts to companies by buying their stock, making investing more efficient

It might be fully online by 2030 if the current demand lasts . IMHO the demand is unsustainable & build on circular financing deals and hidden debt with no way to be ever profitable. The memory cartel would be crazy to actually invest

Sure, scale of cloud systems has some interesting properties, that can be sometimes beneficial. At the same time you are at the mercy of whoever runs the cloud, they can spy on your data or even manipulate your workloads, they can renegotia

I still wonder how it should work otherwise if the "AI" is not running locally - it needs to see the codebase & because it runs somewhere remote in a cloud then it needs to copy the codebase over. I'm rather surprised peo

Regardless of the datacenter issues being true or not, I think any friction that can be applied on "AI" is good. Not to mention people pushing "AI" not really bothering with facts either. This is necessary to bring "
