Thankfully this is already happening thanks to the glorious AI - revolution. AI crawlers just ignore copyright - and any other rules and laws. ;-)

Yeah, totally agreed - there is still far too little negativity in comparison to what is going on.

What will happen once the bubble pops and OpenAI will not be able to pay for all the useless stuff they ordered ?

But it was one hell of a ride! ;-)

Upstreams often mention distros in which their software is packaged, how the package is called and sometimes even the commands to install it.

Maybe that's another indication of something wrong - the NPM ecosystem granularity being so high there is not enough humans alive to safely maintain all the packages ? And some rethinking might be needed even there.

So when the bubble pops the companies making the shovels (TSMC, NVIDIA) might still have the money they got for their products and some of the ex-AI companies might least be able to sell standard compliant GPUs on the wider market. And Goog

I don't think you can say it learns - and that is part of the issue. Time mentoring a new colleague is well spent making the colleague grow professionally. Time hand-holding an AI agent is wasted when all you guidance inevitably falls

Or they don't want to be the ones holding the bag when all the AI companies that ordered RAM from them end up bankrupt and insolvent ? The stuff they ordered might even be so custom to be useless to be sold by the creditors, leaving th

It can price you out of some projects - stuff like Starlink is basically impossible without the cost reduction via reusability.

If the per kg price goes low enough, you can do on-orbit manufacturing of some materials that are impossible to produce in a gravity field.

Starship is also meant to be reusable, so there is an additional margin already built in.

I think something would have to de done about the thermal isolation - it looked like to be quite flimsy & I guess a couple months on low orbit with all the UV light and atomic oxygen could easily result in cloud of dark orange stuff slo

Yeah, airship to orbit might still be a question mark, but there is a significant overlap in other useful areas. You should be for example totally able to build an inflatable frame for a launch loop, making it possible to launch payloads fr
