I see the value in an old-school workplace where everyone has an office. Cubical variations, no matter how pretty, just always feel a bit wrong unless everyone is working on the same project.

Consumers are rational. They aren't unlimited in their ability to source and process information. We're not very good at understanding their behaviour.

1. They don't believe the benefit will be realised in their circumstance. 2. There is both opportunity cost and hidden cost for trying your solution.

The blame also needs to fall on those who came before us. Everyone has been burnt to some degree by benefits being poorly forecast.

My best is that AR/CV and conversational UI will be the next big things.

It's the "undoubted refinement of UI and industrial design" that was so important, and it's that same thing that is dying within the company. It's not over yet, but they need a cultural shift back toward the light.

And yet nothing that meets all my requirements. Still so much room to improve!

If they had given us something we wanted, in return, we might feel different. It's not thinner, it's just missing a headphone jack.

It's great to have both skills, but it's better to be good at one than mediocre at both. You should double down on what you're good at for your portfolio.

Copyright only covers expression. It doesn't cover the content of a scientific paper. One effort of paraphrasing a paper and we're good to go.

I've not had this experience on Win 7 or Win 10. There's also Firefox if you refuse to upgrade or fix your box.
