Never said it is new, and still not a reason to downvote but to discuss. Very disappointed at HN. Yeah, epigenetics, however that is not my point. My point is that the genetic pool is degrading and environment and culture are not going to f

So I'm getting downvoted for proposing a hypothesis? Not that I really care but come on, at least discuss it ;)

Precisely that's why I stated it is a personal opinion.

My naive hypothesis is that health problems are only going to get worse because we've killed the fundamental constant force of improvement in nature: natural selection. Industrial countries people have way weaker health and more health

Personal opinion of course, but exactly what I thought. I even tried skipping parts to see if it was going somewhere. It didn't. Tries to sound smart but it's all emptiness. No useful information. Useless anecdotes that fill space

I love the thought experiment however putting all those connectors in there + a decent battery is not going to be simple (if even possible at all).

Yes. Government does not issue more taxi licenses, so the only way to get one is to buy it from someone else. The price is set by the market. A taxi driver can easily make 2,500€/month in Madrid, especially if he/she hires another

* You can find VTC licenses for ~60,000€. * Uber and Cabify don't own those licenses directly but their CEOs and investors do ( https://www.elmundo.es/cronica/2018/08/05/5b659a44468aeb9a29... ).

I live in Madrid and this issue is fairly complex. - Taxi is a public service that is performed by private entrepreneurs. As such, it is strongly regulated by law (fares, working days/hours, etc...). On the other hand, VTCs (spanish ac

Back then African people were basically considered evolved apes but definitely not humans, at least not the same concept used for Europeans. They were even kept in zoos in Europe[1]. The USA also extensively used eugenics[2] to try to purif

Ofc, because with Trump the US-EU relation has got to an all-time low, and now the EU tries to look independent even if it can't but ofc you need to show your voters you are not sold to US interests.

Did you read the article? "The European trade vehicle was conceived as a way to help match Iranian oil and gas exports against purchases of EU goods. However, those ambitions have been toned down, with diplomats saying that, realistica

Hm maybe; I think "Ottoman occupation in the early-20th Century turned from oppression to mass killings" has a slightly confusing word order, probably "in the early-20th Century" should go at the end?

Armenia was incorporated to the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, not in the 20th. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoman%E2%80%93Safavid_War_(1...

A "deal" that has near-zero value for both parties where the EU is more trying to save face by showing it is "independent" while trying to not anger the USA anyway by applying other sanctions. IMHO this is a pretty weak

And? Old means correct? They probably used "milk" to confuse people and make them buy it, whereas its nutritional value is way below "actual" milk.

And? I'm calling to stop using that word :) It is confusing and these beverages are nothing like milk except in the looks.

Exactly, and I think "milk" is a confusing term that doesn't even describe what all these beverages are, which usually are way less nutritious than "real" milk.

Can we please stop calling these juices with additives "milk". Milk is produced by mammals. Whatever you add to oak juice doesn't make it "milk".

All living beings want to dominate, it's genetics: if you dominate you can pass down your genes easier. We definitely came close to being wiped out by bacteria. Several times. And no, we don't have more human "strains".

Sorry, I absolutely do not agree. 1) They do exercise control, self-aware or not. Your guts' bacteria control what you can eat or not. The environment bacteria control what diseases you can get and even if live or die. The bacteria dec

Define "dominate". IMHO bacteria dominate the Earth, but of course, they don't know. They don't even need to know to dominate.
