You don't need to manufacture a product to sell it. He might have been developing it, then someone beat him to it. Instead of spending on R&D, he gets to just buy it from a manufacturer and use his name to sell thousands.

A lot of companies want employees to own a part of the pie so they'll feel personally engaged in the future of the company. I don't think it's a red flag at all. Most companies will set away 5-10% of their stock value to be o

If Amazon tried and wasn't successful, I doubt Epic would. The market is meant to be taken by a few players, it's such a huge undertaking. The hope is that those few players play fair.

Android has the ability to side-load, as well as install other app stores. IOS has a complete monopoly on their mobile vertical.

What road would that lead down to? Seems like users could enjoy a whole new app store where developers preferred dealing with facebook instead of Apple.

Hong Kong was legally handed over to China, but they had a 50(?) year handover period which they're breaking. Taiwan was never China's. A bunch of Chinese nationals went to China during the cultural revolution, and China would lov

Microsoft didn't have a monopoly on computers, yet it was guilty of pushing all their users to use their apps over others. Apple and Google are the only major phone OS's. If they control what you can install on your phone, they ha

It's a good start. They need to move carefully while balancing their assets. They also need to train the new employees in the US, it'll take time to get great chip engineers there, and get Taiwanese volunteers to move to the US.

No it doesn't. Web browsers have evolved to basically be an OS. You could essentially revert to the old days where it was simple, but why would you? Users want more features in their web apps, and the standards/web browsers make

This comment is a bit misleading. He's OK with using YOLO, but agrees that using version numbers is misleading. YOLO-v5 is not a succession to YOLO-v4, it's just another version from someone else.

I'm sure the feeling is reciprocated. Taiwan is being bullied 24/7 by China. They even have Chinese military jets doing "military exercises" in the Taiwan fly zones. https://www.voanews.com/east-asia-paci
