Unrelated, bit it's fascinating that the Google Reader API (which is super weird I think) is still the status quo for interacting with feed readers ( https://freshrss.github.io/FreshRSS/en/developers/06_Go

lire is great. Ditched my Feedly lifetime sub for self-hosted FreshRSS and lire and I'm reading my RSS feeds again.

I've got an old Mac-Mini 2012 laying around. It was a gift. I never wanted to switch to Mac on this solid, but not very powerful machine. Over xmas last year I booted the thing, and it was unbearable slow, even with the original versio

Zen Browser (FF) on Win and Firefox on iOS (for sync) works well for me. Edge for all M365 related stuff. Still use Chrome for web dev. Not sure what to move on in that regard...

Is it easier to build a browser for MacOS? Arc was Mac only for the longest time, until they released a crippled Windows version. DuckDuckGo browser started Mac only.

I put that on our website, since I love RSS. We are not a tech company, though, so none of the potential applicants use it. I think some scraper/job boards consume it, but that's it. I built it mainly for fun and to signal virtue

I'm using Huffduffer for a while and it's really good, since I can create a podcast feed from any available audio on the web and it extracts audio from several (video) platforms and stores it for a month. > Huffduffer takes the

I just love how natural the voice sounds (don't even need other voices) and that it shows up in my podcast player so I don't have to switch to another app. The voices in pocket are not as good I think. I guess what's missing

This is perfect. I love that it fits seamless in my audio/podcast flow. I was listening to articles via Pocket before, but it's not as good as your product. I suspect this will cost money sooner or later (text2speech and audio sto

Unpoly is pretty good and complete. What I don't like is loading page specific JS/CSS via javascript. Turbolinks manages that for me and turbolink still executes inline JS. Turbolinks falls short in providing a "framework&quo

Great work. This should be extended to podcasts and images would be nice as well. At the end, maybe there is no way anymore to get non-technical people interested into these technologies if they can get their news from a preinstalled "

And then there was VSCode Memo[1] on Show HN 2 weeks ago (but got no love[2]) - what's the reason that these similar tools are showing up? [1] https://github.com/svsool/vscode-memo [2] https://news.ycom

This is a well designed product. I really like it. The last days I was working on my personal wiki/notetaking/knowledge management because it was bugging me, that everything needs a subscription and offered too much or not enough[

This reminds me a bit of mdwiki http://dynalon.github.io/mdwiki/#!index.md which was just an index.html in a folder of markdown files.

htmx looks like the perfect thing between UnpolyJS and AlpineJS. In Unpoly I miss the optional clientside templating which htmx seems to support as extension. AlpineJS lacks the http stuff (headers, requests). Really exciting times for usin

Tumblr is imho still the best blogging platform. Wonderful posting experience on mobile. Great API. Actively development. Great inspiration (scroll through vintage photos, art, music, funny stuff and nudes on one dashboard). The only thing

Interesting you posted this a few days ago, because I think it's relevant with yesterdays news of tumblr banning adult content and as a result, lots of images of trivial content (beaches etc) got flagged as porn. See also: https:/

Anybody remembers the AI generated porn? Yahoo's experimental porn filter is the basis of beaches and dunes getting flagged as adult content. https://open_nsfw.gitlab.io

I'm using it as a music blog. Posting audio/video etc. was easy, but I also enjoyed getting from cat pics to pussy to dumb funny things in one second. Also, their posting tools (app and web) are pretty good I think and their api.

I use both in parallel and sometimes it's annoying to make a video player work (or captcha). I don't know how a video player can rely on 5000 injected dependencies from 5000 different domains.

The podcast I'm looking most forward to is The David Feldman Show [1] His guests are comedians (the brilliant Aaron Berg) and politicians/activists (left). He asks good questions, talks about current events and I learned a lot abo
