In a similar vein covid changed my recreation habits enough to make me consider a truck/suv. With nowhere to go except outdoors I spent a lot more time camping/kayaking in Tahoe and national parks. Bringing an inflatable kayak, pa

"Severity- 5/5, Risk 1/5. No corrective action recommended." I imagine a lot of contentious finger pointing between quality, product, and id happening right now.

I’ve noticed recently that many of the places on Airbnb are also listed on VRBO, and usually cheaper for some reason. VRBO also lets you filter by total price from the start.

I’m baffled by the idea that anyone would sell anything without product liability insurance. Even at a shitty hardware startup sending out our first dev kits we made sure to have that. Maybe it’s different if you’re a fly by night drop ship

I attended a workshop at the local McKinsey office in college as part of some minority recruitment push they were doing. The recent hires were very up front that most of the work is just looking up the "best practices" for the ind

Have some friends at Zoox and can't say I'm confident in them. Retention appears to be a massive problem, entire teams up and quitting.

My university had an honor system, proctors were explicitly not allowed in the room during the test except to make announcements. Worked well enough as far as I know. Cheating was dealt with harshly when reported.

I would bet you good money it was driven by some sort of rel test (drop, vibration, etc.). Glue can be a lifesaver when the design isn't passing. No manufacturing engineer will want to add an adhesive step to the assembly just to make

Linears are great, I find the AD sheets hard to read sometimes. Microchip historically has some decent ones but it’s been a while since I’ve used their parts. Datasheets for Japanese connectors are like a circle of hell for me. Confusing an

No this is a very different form of clotting caused by auto antibodies that causes both clotting and low platelet counts. It's similar to HIT. Giving heparin in this situation would make things worse. https://en.wikipedia.or

Sure people could always lie. In practice I’ve seen people say it’s an emotional support animal or produce their doctors note for it, which somewhat ironically confirms it’s not actually a service dog.

They are allowed to ask if the dog is trained to perform a specific task which would differentiate a guide dog or medical alert dog that can’t be refused entry from an emotional support animal that can.

Samsung added a separate hardware button for Bixby, Apple did not. That is not identical. The only buttons on the iPhone are power, volume, and the silent switch. There is no separate Siri button. I’m not sure what you’re disagreeing with h

Samsung does not have the same setup. They added a separate button mapped exclusively to this feature. The iphone has an alternate mapping most aren't even aware of for a multifunctional button

One of my professors consulted for Del Monte. They had an automated vision system that could spot damaged corn kernels as they flew down the conveyer belt and precisely knock them off into a hopper with a puff of air.

As someone that actually uses LTSpice I’ve never considered speed to be an issue. The main draws for it are 1. It’s free unlike Altium addons or orcad p-spice 2. Graphical, I’m happy to code things but code literacy varies widely among EEs.
