I've applied economics to historical and current data to discover where markets were mispricing assets. But for myself, as a hobby. Not sure what you're looking for but might be able to point you to a source of info...

Good. Washington state, during the boom of the 1990s, grew state expenditures as if they expected no end to the good times. When the dotcom crash happened, they started raising taxes to keep spending at the bubble levels. They could have pu

DomainTools does have customer service. Their not very secretive, so you could concievably just drop by their offices. They're located in downtown seattle, so not that far from you. They may have a policy against it, in which case you may

No inside knowledge, so this is speculation, but it appears that YC focuses more on "lean" startups, while founders fund seems to tend to invest in companies with larger capital requirements.

I forgot how bad Mike Arrington is. I have a 1st generation iPhone. It has never dropped a call. Not once. And I used to live in with a mountain between me and the nearest cell tower. Why is it so many "geek" news sources are run by anti-g

Looks good too. Ruby is not a problem. I've now got multiple choices that seem like they can do the job and just need to decide which one is the best fit. Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like each Job Server is a separate queue? Not sure what happens if one of the job servers dies then. It does handle load balancing in a nice way.

Thanks. I'd seen it a long time ago, and forgotten about it. Looking into it now. Seems it gives me choices for the backend including RabbitMQ and Redis.

This is about the fourth time I've lived thru one of those consensus end-of-the-road forecasts for semiconductor feature sizes. Each time hey have gone past with maybe a years delay. Of course, lithography canny be extended forever, thou

Bless techcrunch's heart, they do not understand the difference between outsourcing design and manufacturing, that is what happened to the crunchpad!

I finally opened a Facebook account years ago when I became convinced they kept private info private, now they are making private info public by default, and I no longer trust them. I certainly won't be buying a phone from them.

I've done both. It is better to go single than have a founder who isn't in sync. If you can find a founder who is in sync with you, that is best. But most of the startups I've seen fail, even though the blame was placed elsewhere, really

The blame may be pinned on ETFS if it happens, t the mechanism described in this article is really a regulatory construct that creates a type of short selling that is problematic. Maybe it might also exist in a free market, but it is prote

Btw, one thing ive been looking for is a relatively high level queue/worker service, that is already written and distributed. I'd like to be able to write workers in JavaScript or python, and found one the other night in erlang that does t

Thanks for your thoughts, and I don't disagree with the general philosophy you're pitching. I think, though, you may be imagining something different than I'm trying to describe. It seems that you're thinking in terms of front end and back

This is tne most interesting language in a long while. Sure maybe learning erlang directly might be better, but since so many are unwilling, you'd think an interest in real concurrency would push them to effete. I hope it is gaining momen

You mentioned raik/Cassandra etc do the clustering better, and this may be true, but a big part of the attraction of couchdb is couchApps and the built in map reduce which does the data crunching we need to do in a way well suited to our pr
