In some relevant ways: Norway is Saudi Arabia but with a world class PR company. (I do wonder which one they use.)

The better alternative: order and pay via a web/mobile app, pickup via drive-through/walk-in. Although I guess you miss out on a little human-to-human interaction…

(I'm also a PCW fan. Grew up reading it in the local public library. Tiny mill town in Sweden.) I'm curious: if you remember - which years would you describe as the best ones for Byte and PCW?

(!) I only have a few issues that I bought as a kid. I've been re-reading them lately and I noticed that that while e.g. a 1987 issue is (still!) deeply intellectually stimulating, a 1989 issue is kind of boring in comparison. It seems

GenAi accomplishes what Tim Berners-Lee’s oddball and impractical semantic web project (2000s) set out to do but never could deliver on.

I think the general idea is strategic speed shaping before spots where lethal accidents are likely. So nudging, sort of. There’s a lot of public support for that.

Sweden: Their locations are public. There is even an official API. They are mostly located in sane places. Apps like Waze consume this API and warn drivers if they’re at risk of getting caught. It’s the deterrence/slowdown at known ri

I still get strong Hyderabad vibes from the copy/pasting plus the occasional original sentence. Perhaps they trained the LLM using that data though. (Small customer though: yearly AWS spend around 80k. Support is 10% of that.)

Paid AWS support got a lot less capable on average during these two decades . :/ My recent interactions with them would probably have been better if they were an LLM.

Meh. Similar pricing and availability compared to its primary competitor at the time: Arduino. It was just too unusual in too many ways. In one way it’s a bit like the Amiga vs the 8088/8086 PC.
