I've seen the stereotype confirmed on HN several times already. Whenever I, a blind pedestrian, voice my concerns about driverless car technology, I am being downvoted and outright critizised. The undertone is "How can this sing

Abusing ccTLDs for things which are not relevant to the particular country just because they TLD sounds or reads cool is where the problem began. .cc, .rs, just to name some. I know it has become out of fashion these days, but countries ha

Wow, two announcements by Google on HN on the same day both look like a scam. localllm just being a downloader and wrapper for llama.cpp, and this one giving many users a 404 after subscription. I think Google is officially dead.

Looks like the repo (localllm) only contains a smallish Python project to do the model downloading. When it comes to serving the model, it calls out a Python module llama_cpp.server, which is not part of the repo, likely something inside t

I would happily pay extra money for a human driver. Especially because I rely on their cooperation when getting in / out. A human taxi driver will call out to me when he stops, knowing that it isn't easy to destinguish him from

To put it in more direct terms, I wnder if AI training does and/or can even distinguish between different classes of pedestrians. I am suspecting the current approach is to treat them all the same. Which would result in a driver that

I just don't believe the "close to perfect" story. And I know that those who died while they were not close to perfect yet really don't care that there is this hypotetical future.

I am blind. When gpt-4-vision-preview was released, I started to think what I could do wth it which isn't just straight image-to-text conversion. A narrator for my MPD playlist, with the ability to see albumart, was an exciting idea.
