I've come to really enjoy observing birds in my yard. Their behavior creates this interesting little drama that's fun to just pay attention to. Especially when war breaks out. Crows VS Owls is quite a show.

I was about to call BS but then tried this prompt. This is insane. Git and node works. It does make lots of assumptions about the state of the system... it's almost as if it know what you actually want to do instead of fighting you.

Strict types have little to do with this. Unless your type system validates bounds , this sort of things happens regardless of types.

This is nice, but we should avoid strictly focusing on the environmentally-specific properties of the product, but rather on whether the manufacturing process is scalable and cheap enough, and whether the product's other properties, li

This is a first and the simplest layer of the argument. If "just quitting" was such a great option, what's the point of the entire labor rights movement?

If diving into discussions of AI art, "The Ontology of the Photographic Image" by Andre Bazin is always a relevant read that can help you draw helpful parallels: https://archive.org/details/Bazin_Andre_The_Ont

I guess my issue is not hermeticity but ephemeral constrainers and stateless approach to things. Maybe a "one-way" hermeticity... a semi-permeability if you will.

Firecracker is nice but still very limited to what it can do. My gripe with all CI systems is that an an industry standard we've universally sacrificed performance for hermeticity and re-entrancy, even when it doesn't really gives

This is the kind of stuff that the compiler needs to really understand. If all this de-referencing and referencing magic is at the control of the user, it needs to have meaningful effect on what the code does. Otherwise we might as well jus

How in the world did a walled garden ecosystem like Snap manage to embed itself so deeply into Linux culture? There needs to be a user and industry revolt against Snap for this sort of shenanigans.
