The 'Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. Perhaps those affected could spin up a local Gitlab instance and migrate their data to it?

I look forward to F-Droid banning Firefox as well as any and all web-browsers that don't implement a blocklist that perfectly matches their ideology.

The Mattermost API is a superset of Slack's. "Most" integrations "just work", the rest need a minimum of tweaking to DTRT.

Oh man, I would've watched the HELL out of this show in highschool. Pity, I didn't even know it existed! I had a beloved Latin teacher back then (regrettably, he passed years ago) who would've been all over this too.

I've been hosting my own email for years. It's not without its challenges, but it's certainly not what I would call 'insurmountable'. This 'never host your own email!' meme needs to go.

Welcome to city-living. If you want peace and quiet, move to the suburbs or the countryside. Spend some of the bajillions you'd save in housing on getting a solid ISP link out to your home, and help your new neighbors get wired up to

Honestly, it was probably a compromise many years ago to get some other kind of legislation or tax-code pushed through. Last decade's "compromise" is this decade's "loophole".
