I almost hate myself for writing this - but any given AWS AZ has had more outages/ performance degradations/service interuptions over the past ~5years than my home internet/electricity... and with an unmetered connection with

Horrible flashbacks. Pure war of attrition. I remember at one point replicating the work of a cheat author in a game I was responsible for and pushing out a bait 'patch' for the hack to confirm they were using the methods I though

I still miss Visual Basic + WinForms, as a teenager it was such an easy way to put together a functional UI, I know it has it's detractors, but I can't think of anything I've used since that was quite so fun to use and so qui

Agreed. I live in Hong Kong which has arguably some of the best public transport in the world - which is great until you are out of a service area of the MTR, then it's undersized packed busses mixed with convoluted bus routes - which

Just as no one else has yet mentioned it, it was also used apparently in the 70s and 80s to broadcast software downloads[1] And the venerable BBC micro had a teletext adapter available for it too [2] [1] https://en.m.wikipedia.or

I didn’t realise how important politics were and how far some people will go to crush you if you think you are a threat. I had a senior co-worker tell me some documentation I had written was terrible, when I asked what was wrong with it he

I will take your question in good faith and assume that you merely missed it due to the way the original statement was worded. It explicitly states that everyone "over the border" (in Mainland China) are the polar opposite of &quo

_I_ don't need to know it, but my friend who can't take the vaccine as she is pregnant might wish to use the information to make risk assessments. Further: it is literally illegal not to wear a mask here in certain public areas -

I don't know if anywhere in the United States enforces mask wearing with some kind of law - but assuming they do, doesn't this severely complicate things? How do you tell quickly and easily if someone not wearing a mask is vaccina

I absolutely hate this. It's funny, as a joke, but the fact that someone has produced, marketed and made this drives me insane. The waste it produces for no reason is in my opinion unconscionable - I spent more time than I admit checki

Used them years ago when we moved from AWS to bare-metal (losing Elastic Beanstalk that we were using in AWS in the process) I seem to recall a few minor issues here and there, but I'd totally use them again.
