To some degree yes, but mostly because Cixin Liu is just an incredibly unique writer in style!

Shadows become incredibly sharp for instance, causing everything to look like it's rasterized in software!

Colored anodizing can be significantly harmful to the environment (what Framework said, don't kill the messenger). Edit: This showed up randomly to me minutes after sending this; https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PURZ

Intel Core Ultra only supports DDR5 unfortunately. 13th gen is the last generation that supported DDR4 (14th on desktop).

Interesting how they use inductors for memory? My conventional thinking would imply that when you put a few billion of these together on a single package it's bound to create interference. Amazing to read through this though, as someon

It's important to note here that Mozilla spends the majority of that money on non-Firefox projects (something that has pissed off people who have wanted to donate to Firefox specifically for ages). Firefox itself gets a sliver of that.

The timing's pretty good with Gnome (Mutter) releasing VRR hopefully in the next release? Some compositors have good support already too!

Is the grey-to-grey response time information available? If not would it be possible to share the panel's serial code?

Really happy to see a higher refresh rate screen here, as an osu! player this will be immensely helpful. These types of things are what solidify my faith in why I got a Framework in the first place :)

The chain of blame can be pushed further. Peripheral manufacturers laergely targrt desktop users, of which almost no motherboards support USB-C.

At least on Android (where I have a lot more expertise), Photos are detected by Gallery which quite literally is just a frontend with nice thumbnails. Are you sure manually importing from files to gallery is a behaviour that exists? I defin

This would imply deleting photos does not increase free space which is empiracally false. While unfortunately the iPhone's filesystem is heavily abstracted, Photo's is just a frontend for files AFAIK.

Unsure if parking the core is always the right move. There's many scenarios where running multiple cores at lower clocks/finishin faster would be net positive. The benchmark is really promising though! Would be great to see some P

Wenting Zhang made a proof of concept for this, it's somewhere on his Twitter, Youtuhe, or Github :) Definetly would be amazing to have for the Framework.

Tried this out a few days ago when I was looking for trackpad integration closer to MacOS but struggled to find how it was touchpad centric unfortunately. Very cool project though!

Agree with the last bit. This is the perfect way to start racially stereotyping. For the first bit, unfortunately that's hard to control and is actually talked about quite a bit (speaking as a HS student). I would be interested in alte

Great video! This is more a problem of the various other hardware interfaces though, considering even a 120Hz panel has a maximum of 6ms of latency between it's refreshes. As a person who does some digital art from time to time though,

This site is an absolute gem besides the news articles! Grey-to-grey response times of LCDs offset basically any benefit received from higher refresh rates though as they mention. OLED definetly seems like the future here..

Why is this a goalpost for just about anything? This seems completely uncorrelated, and I'm sure many fully grown adults would fail under similar timing conditions too.

To anyone who has done this and rustlings, how do you think they compare? I've been very happy with rustlings, but I'm curious if it's worth it to finish these too!

As the lorentz factor calculated above, not much! Time would only be dilated by that much, and length by the the same amount. It'd definetly be hard to hit something at that speed, but not due to relativity!
