It's even freer to leave the programmer here and not have to export at all.... There's no way a guy on Mars could compete on costs. I think you're also underestimating how much of a premium bandwidth will be too.

This is a pretty big assumption, why would it be a prime export? What makes Mars so great for producing software that would cover the added expense of firing a programmer all the way there in a rocket?

In the context of the question being asked, I think a little indignation is entirely in order. Has Woz ever shown any expertise in design? I mean really, it's like asking if Michelangelo knew his way around a fucking paint brush.

Are you fucking kidding? Woz CREATED Apple... Job's single defining contribution to the Apple I was "hey we should sell this!", he did literally NOTHING else.

Hell, even Master of Magic had this on its spellbook. I fail to see how this is in any way a unique feature warranting a patent, what a fucking joke.

You're missing the point. This article is about BRITONS, i.e. the inhabitants of the British Isles. It's not using Romans as representatives of what PEOPLE did back then, it's using Romans as representatives of what BRITONS did back then. H

Calm down there Hulkomania, this article is very clearly written from the perspective of the British Isles, and the Romans were kinda a big deal there. Before you start implying people are trying to "seem clever", maybe check that your indi

I'm British, and I actually feel quite the opposite. Apple sought to use UK courts to their own ends, and then threw a bitch fit when the ruling didn't go their way. The judge is absolutely right to slap them down. You shouldn't get to pick

It's a spirit of the law issue, again. Judges aren't friggin robots. You don't get to fuck around and have them go "BEEP BOOP WELL TECHNICALLY NOT A VIOLATION BEEP BOOP". The whole point of a judge is to, well, use his/her judgement. If thi

Programming isn't all there is to software development though. Be honest now, in how many of all the colossal fuck ups in development there have been, do you think the CODING was the problem?

Well, now I do feel like a cunt. Past my bedtime, so didn't connect this with that wee bit of weather the East coast USA experienced recently. Sincerely hope lugging diesel remains the least of their worries.

Nice little shoutout to the Amiga there, and why it was such a groundbreaking machine! Nothing else a home user could buy could do pre-emptive multitasking in 1985... Or even 1995 AFAIK.
