I can see tire and road wear, but I'd expect electric cars to use brakes less than normal cars due to regen.

It's been a couple of years now, but I still load up A Bridge Too Far every now and then! It's the only 20-year old game I know that's still fun. It's getting hard to run on current machines, though, with its hard-coded

The Close Combat series is entirely based on this idea. You give commands to squads, but the individual soldiers respond to the conditions on the battlefield, the orders they have being but one part of that.

Still, you can get rid of most of the velocity for a Mars landing using aerobraking alone. To land on the Moon you'll be bringing all of that delta-V with you as fuel. Landing a Dragon on Mars already takes a lot of propellant: https:

RP-1/LOX also exhausts basically water vapor, plus CO2. There should be little NOx emission since it's not burning air, but there's probably some organic emissions from unburned fuel.

And yes, if there is no "fix" then they should not sell this technology at all. I suspect when you see the impact on battery life or weight you might change your mind. Cars do catch fire during normal use. It's not common

I agree, I enjoy playing Civ, but realizing the absolutely astronomical amount of time I've sunk into it and all the things I could have done instead has really turned me off from it. Maybe it's an age thing; once you realize half

I'm not that familiar with Tesla, but what "federal and state government subsidies and low-interest loans" have SpaceX gotten? Unless you count NASA contracts as "subsidies and loans", of course, which is absurd.

It's not just that one. The vast majority of stars, by number (but not by light), are stars like these. The universe might dim, but it won't be dark for a long, long time.

Uh, "1-2 trillion" IS "trillions". I'm not sure how you can make that out to be misleading. Stating "trillions" in lieu of "tens of trillions" or "hundreds of billions" might be misle

That's "at least"; the age is a lower limit. These stars basically live forever, even in astronomical terms, and evolve extremely slowly, so all you know is that it's not "young".

efficient is the key. It's about outcomes. There's nothing saying we need greater quantities of energy, because very little of the things we as a civilization do are fundamentally energy-limited. Over the long term, there is no

If you look back at old launch videos, you can often see big chunks of ice form by the second stage engine vents during coast, only to be blown off by the vibration as the engine is restarted. I assume this is something similar.

As a current Voice user and would-like-to-be Fi user, the fact that I have to give up my Voice number to use Fi is a dealbreaker. The whole point of Voice was to not tie your number to a specific provider.
