The 16 GB iPhone 4 is €659 with €15 per month for 12 months plan on Vodafone in Greece. I understand that the size of the respective markets is vastly different and that strategically sacrificing margins for market share is more justified f

Well, the iPhone is 600-700 euro in Europe, too, but carrier plans are also cheaper than those in the states, as I would guess are in India. Things indeed look very unfair if you don't factor in subsidies and factor out taxes and duties.

I know I'm probably nitpicking, but there is a lot of difference between regulators probing the company and Apple being concerned about it. A lot of poking an probing is business as usual for companies as big as Apple.

The physics and physiology of radiation exposure seem to be quite complicated. I can't really answer your question, I'm very far from qualified to do so, but again _according to Wikipedia_ the short term effect of 0.2 Sv per day, let alone

I guess you are right, but it's just as dishonest to present the situation as completely out of control and use Fukushima as an excuse to paint nuclear power as completely unsafe and dangerous. Which is what mainstream media has been mostly

Yeah, don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen. Remember the iPhone parodies from 3 years ago ("it's a shaver, it's a cheese grater", "introducing iRack", etc)? None of those managed to hurt Apple's brand or the sales of Apple produc

But that was not because the iPod had no wireless, neither because it had less space than Nomad. I hope we can all agree, with the benefit of hindsight, that the reason for the slow uptake of the iPod was a combination of it being Firewire

OpenGL 3.2, huh? Well, I guess it's better than nothing, but had a faint hope Apple will skip ahead to 4.0 or even 4.1. Next time around it seems.

Considering it had been in development for at least, what, two years, there is very little chance, and absolutely no excuse, for this next version of FCP to not be Cocoa. And if it is Cocoa it certainly is going to be 64 bit.

Oh come on, no sane person is arguing that Elop went the Microsoft route _because_ he's a big shareholder. The reason people bring up the issue of the stock he owns is to point out that not only his decisions at Nokia are mostly consequence

More importantly, regardless of whether they said small or smooth, the fact that they didn't give a number or at least a ballpark number (e.g. 'more than 1.5 mil") for the sell-out is indicative of sales not being all that good.

Google are not removing video tag support, they are removing the h264 codec. h264 is pretty damn well established and is actually a standard without the quotation marks, and an open one at that.
