Man, fantastic. I should probably get into doing something like this in my free time instead of browsing reddit or tvtropes.

Another option to avoid turning off the candle is not talking to people, or wait for them to bring up the subject. I'm awkward so I often end up doing this.

As a Colombian who remembers how things were nine years ago (I was sixteen and just starting college)[1], I have to admit that the thing I found most shocking was that he wasn't just kidnapped by the rebels. That non-sequitur of mine a

I disagree on "avoiding classical inheritance", though I didn't drink the functional programming kool-aid so what do I know. That aside, I like the article, JS is my second favorite language and I'v never gotten the hate

This I pure paranoia fuel. I don't think I've done this (or what someone else mentioned about leaving the .git folder open in the server) but I'll double check anyway.

I'll keep creating plain REST APIs for the time being. I haven't really faced any of the issues mentioned. Or at least they haven't impacted development time for me in a meaningful way. If a client requires a GraphQL API, I&#

Any list putting Python on top makes me happy. It still is and remains my favorite language and, even if the metrics of the list are highly selective and not a general representation, it's nice to see it represented.

This is awesome. Probably the only gripe I have about GitLab is the navigation and this is a great improvement.

I've never liked react (and not only because of the sketchy licensing, in fact, that's fairly low among my qualms about react) so it's nice to see validation. I'm sticking with Vue, even if (and that's a big if) it

All of these are excellent arguments against most of the IoT practices, and not even including the security issues. All in all a great read[1]. These are all the reasons for why I'm not interested in IoT/embedded. I just don

I agree with TFA on the "making yourself sound bigger than life" thing. I always think I sound ridiculous when I do that so I prefer to focus on what I know. Not that I've had much succeed either, though.

The first application I worked in from the ground-up is a flask app; quite a learning experience, to put it lightly. Despite the amount of technical debt accumulated, however, I don't regret it. I grew a lot as a developer and became m

If you mean in the frontend, AngularJS was going in that direction. Then react came along and the angular developers decided to copy it, in a different language and with even more boilerplate. I believe nowadays it's ember the one that

The entire time I read this I kept thinking of the fundamental theorem (and its corollary). Also, considering this an all-solving hammer has the risk, like with everything, of being premature optimization, methinks.

We seem to be about to start going in circles so I'm cutting here with one last remark: For what it's worth, in Angular one can also make the events explicit, and yet in there it is called two way binding.
