All of these are excellent arguments against most of the IoT practices, and not even including the security issues. All in all a great read[1]. These are all the reasons for why I'm not interested in IoT/embedded. I just don't have the hardware and low-level firmware knowhow and doing it the other way, starting with an OS and going down, seems (and evidently is) horrible. And I say this as a full-time software developer. [1]: Even if there might be inaccuracies; the author admitted the possibility and the point stands.
