Wouldn't it be more desirable to have these WYSIWYG editors serialize to a non-HTML markup (like textile or markdown) to reduce the hassle of user-input sanitization on the back-end? (e.g. stripping script and iframe tags). What's best-prac

And in case anyone is wondering, that's how the Easier option is implemented (CORS), whereas the Easy option is just JSONP. OP could probably make it more explicit since it's not just a JSONP service, but also a CORS relay.

Congrats Mark! Looks like a few HN folks have already used this app in the past. How did you reach out to an audience to build up beta testers? And, more importantly, how do I make sure I'm on people's hit list for beta testing new apps?

Git reminds me of the Churchill quote on democracy. It's the worst form of version control system except all the others that have been tried. Despite putting up with arcane incantations, I'm not going back.

I'm less interested with the graphing and more interested in Cube itself, which seems to be a nice simple data warehouse solution. Has anyone used this in production? How does it compare with other data warehousing projects? Are there any p

Maybe we're galatic lottery winners wondering why no ones else has won the lottery? Our existence is a survivorship bias. Also, take into account the possibility that other intelligent life might be more biological than technological (e.g.

Not to be overly sensitive, but I believe the term "Orientals" is derogatory. Even if used in jest, you wouldn't use something like the "N" word casually ( http://www.lifeintheusa.com/people/asians.htm ). Just pointing this out for the sake

Agree. It seems the OP is just moving from one language to another rather than from one domain (back-end) to another (front-end). If you're learning JavaScript to get familiar with front-end and UI, Node.js is just a distraction. Instead, m

I think the reason this is getting negative/poor feedback is because the SAT analogy does not hold - Snow:PHP::CoffeeScript:JavaScript JavaScript is a great language with debatable syntax. CoffeeScript works because it clarifies the beauty

I'm running 0.9.2 and was wondering if the 1.0 upgrade is worthwhile but found it hard to find the CHANGELOG from the vagrant site. Thank goodness for github: https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant/blob/master/CHANGELOG.m...

Jason, I think the confusion is that your example Project is so nicely fleshed out, people use it to grok the entire range functionality within a project. Because there is no sample Event, people will miss the small "Add Event" link hidden

The README for this desperately needs the blacklist, not the whitelist. I care a lot more about the 10% that's missing. Unfortunately, the "limitations" sections reads fairly cryptically. I'm probably just a little slow today. Can anyone ex

That would be slow if you didn't know the slice size (the bonus part of the question), but no, you're not missing anything for the basic solution. That said, it would be O(n^2) since you're comparing every slice to every other slice.

To be honest, I feel the same way, but maybe there's a good explanation for the relative decline of "quality". I think I started lurking HN back in 2007 (which I also believe is the first year of HN). I remember feeling a euphoric sense of
