Amazing - thanks! And for respiratory rate, are you just taking the chest rise and fall from the accelerometer? Would it be obscured by general x,y,z body movement or are you filtering it in some way? It actually looks much smoother than th

This is really great! Thank you. I developed a breathing app ( https://www.lungy.app ) last year - we're actually doing a study at the moment looking at how heart rate variability changes with breathing exercises. We're

Exactly. Also, what is the intervention if the coaches cannot provide any advice or guidance[1] or manage the condition. I really think services like this should be regulated - I'm not sure why ADHD seems like a soft diagnosis and alwa

I always wonder how this can be offered to patients when it seems like it should be classed as a medical device / service and regulated. It's intended for use in a named medical disorder and the guidance is very clear [1] (UK guid

I agree, I think it's awful. It's a waste of everyone's time and insulting to people who have a problem and feel slightly vulnerable. People aren't just numbers or conversion rates, and especially in digital health they

Well done for launching! I'm just very conscious of over-claiming and pseudoscience in this space... Is this classed as a medical device / SaMD? Does it require FDA / MHRA approval or CE marking? Why is there information on y

In the larger diameter blood vessels, it’s also due to relieving back pressure and finding a path of least resistance. This causes existing pathways to dilate and eventually join together to form a new channel / anastomosis (aortic coa

Quite a while ago now, but I used to work at a tissue engineering lab in London. I was interested in how techniques from procedural design and architecture could be brought across, as actually the design of many of the TE scaffolds seemed v

Really great! The way of filtering by equipment available, and then body part is nice and intuitive. I found this article interesting [0]. It's about a fitness site from 1999 ( https://exrx.net ), that is still an incredibly

Amazing! I'm a doctor and founded a software company ( https://www.piahealth.co ) - even for software as a medical device (SaMD), the regulatory hurdles are tricky and time-consuming, I imagine it's at least 10x for hard

Yep, I think fundamentally it feels wrong. I think many families would see it as a sign of incompetence if the doctor cannot explain a diagnosis or treatment plan - time pressure is part of the job unfortunately, and people may not process

I agree it's a realistic scenario. I always thought one of the most important things about being a junior doctor (FY1 / 2 in UK) was to be able to have these conversations with next of kin in a way that is empathic and easy for th

Side note: there is also a stress-induced heart problem called tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy (aka 'broken-heart syndrome'), which also seems to be more common on Mondays. It's caused by sudden stress (e.g. bereavement, illness) w

Yep, it will be interesting to see – Apple Watch can already monitor for atrial fibrillation: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT212214 . Though, it looks like the patient must already have a diagnosis from a doctor. So

I definitely felt Mondays on-call were much busier in the hospital. I always thought this could be due to patients spending weekends with family, not wanting to cause a fuss and maybe ignoring symptoms of cardiac chest pain until it evolves

This is the first time I have been excited about XR - it feels right. Seeing it makes me feel like how I saw technology as a kid, sort of like a magic parallel world. I think a spatial UI will sit much better with people, our brain obviousl
