Mainframes aren’t some old crusty thing that’s about to die from all the bugs stuck in the fans or something. We have a cobol system and it runs on modern IBM hardware. Besides, almost everything is virtualized now anyway. The mainframes ar

John, I think this is a great idea! This is probably not a core competency in your platform, but I can imagine a lot of artists don’t have a resource to get decent photos taken ( not good camera, or understanding of composition, etc). Would

Nginx can hot reload a config file while running that’s pointed at a different directory, or perhaps they’re updating a symlink?

I believe zoom defaulted to passwords in the past, and a lot of companies just updated their settings to turn it off. Not sure what the state is now since we switched to Teams.

I see, that’s interesting. Thanks for the update on Eclipse. Release notes for dirigible said they switched to xterm.js, I’ve been using that lib a lot in both an electron and a web app and it’s been impressive.

Has Eclipse improved in recent versions? I do .net so I use Visual Studio 2019 mostly, and just used Eclipse back in the day for Java development, and then for Android. When Google did a fork of JetBrains as Android Studio I felt it was a p

The image rotation didn't work correctly on mine. Send me a PM with your e-mail if you want me to send you a copy. It left a dotted line around the rotated image.

The watermarking is how Google Maps does it. It shows "development only" on the maps if the keys are not set up right or are over their limits.

Oh, I missed your sarcasm originally. I agree that it’s meaningless.

The spirit of encryption? What does that mean? End to end encrypted means from one client through all networks and servers to the other client, no one can decrypt the traffic. Anything besides that is not end to end.

What do you feel is stupid about the response to this? 1% is a lot of people. The whole point of social distancing and staying at home is to not overwhelm the healthcare system and to give more time to develop proper care procedures.

Yeah processing switch and button and encoder data manually is terrible. Once you install a library to wrap this hardware device in a sane process, how different is that than getting an x/y pixel coordinate from a touchscreen? Touch te

Security through obscurity shouldn’t be used as an edict that something is not effective. You are talking about the fact that it doesn’t increase the security of the protocol itself or the passphrases/keys used. This is true. However,

Why not use Teams Live for this? We have been using zoom and Teams alternately and Teams performance and ease of use has been much better in my experience, but we have yet to do a 200+ all hands so I was curious if there were some footguns

What’s the limiting factor there? The pressure regulation, pressure production, measurement accuracy? There’s open source ECUs that measure dozens of sensors at 1000hz+ and keep an engine perfectly timed using a $35 raspberry pi. Is this pr
