Would it help, though, even in the short term? Making an actual `ticket` table really isn't that much work. If for some reason it is, you can always use an array type, or even shove JSON into a text column. Even if you're not t

I thought the audio delay was because of a crappy dongle too, but when I rented a car with built-in wireless CarPlay it was exactly the same.

They're capturing CO2 from the atmosphere, if they leak methane back out to the atmosphere that's much, much worse. Over a 20-year period, methane has ~80x the warming potential of CO2.

At risk of being pedantic, you seem to be using big O to mean “approximately” or “in the order of”, but that’s not what it means at all. Big O is an expression of the growth rate of a function. Any constant value has a growth rate of 0, so

What's really offensive about this is that AWS does not have good enough IPv6 support for most customers to migrate off of IPv4, even if they want to. ALB uses 2-4 IPv4 addresses. It supports dualstack, but not IPv6-only. CloudFront d

AWS doesn't have good enough IPv6 support for an exodus from IPv4. ALB does not support IPv6-only. Cloudfront only supports IPv4 origins. API Gateway only supports IPv4.

Very much so, texting is my primary method of remote communication. Discord, WhatsApp, and FB messenger are for various group chats. Instagram is almost exclusively for sending dog memes to my wife.

Lots of confusion on what JSONB is. To your application, using JSONB looks very similar to the JSON datatype. You still read and write JSON strings—Your application will never see the raw JSONB content. The same SQL functions are availabl

I know you didn't say it outright, but since it is implied: Python does not use semver, although it does share similar formatting. Semver considers bumps to the second integer a "minor" release with no breaking changes, w

I've thought about even taking this further: Adding a domain to secret. e.g. secret:example.com:abc Then example.com could host a /.well-known/secrets.json which would include information on how to automatically report and&

Consumers don't know or care about IPv6, so competition won't incentivize ISPs to implement it. Funny that you complain about Comcast, when I was with Comcast I actually had native IPv6. With my current provider I only have IPv6

In previous discussion of this article, an HN user did the math: pg12 is 16 bytes per NULL and pg13 is 6.32 bytes per NULL. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25989467 So definitely some pretty significant savings ther
